Import procedure · USA and Canada

How importing a car from the USA and Canada works, step by step

The whole import, from choosing a car to delivery to your address, usually takes 3 to 8 weeks. Below are all the steps, in the order you'll go through them.

  • 3-8 weeks to delivery
  • Deposit refunded if the auction is lost
  • You see every stage in the client panel

9 steps from choice to delivery

At every stage you know what's happening with your car and what the next step is.

  1. You choose a car

We agree on the make, model, engine, year, equipment and maximum budget. We send you selected listings by e-mail or WhatsApp. You can also pick a car from our auction list yourself and give us the LOT number or VIN.

  2. You sign the agreement and pay the deposit

We sign an import agreement and you pay a deposit of PLN 3,600 gross. After a won auction the deposit becomes our commission. If we lose the auction, the deposit is returned to you or kept for the next auction - whichever you prefer.

Deposit PLN 3,600 gross - refunded if lost
  3. You get a quote

Before the auction you know the full delivered cost. Some amounts depend on the price we win the car for, so before the auction they are estimates.

  4. We check the car's history

We check the Carfax or AutoCheck report: accidents, damage, servicing, mileage and number of owners. We look at the auction photos and damage description. If something doesn't add up, we tell you before the auction. On request we order an on-site inspection by an independent assessor.

  5. We bid

An auction usually takes a few minutes. We only bid up to the amount we agreed, so you won't go over budget.

    Never above the agreed amount
  6. You pay for the car in the USA

After winning you have 2 business days to pay for the car. You make the transfer directly to an account in the USA. If you send us the transfer confirmation the same or next day, we release the car right away - and you almost always avoid the fees the auction house charges for storage and late payment.

Quick transfer confirmation = no extra fees
  7. The car ships to Europe

Once the payment is booked, we collect the car from the auction yard, take it to the port and load it into a container. The container sails to Rotterdam. In the client panel you follow every stage - from pickup at the yard to delivery.

  8. Customs clearance

In Rotterdam a customs agency unloads the container, takes photos of the car and clears it. After clearance you get the settlement by e-mail.

  9. Delivery to your address

Once the settlement is paid, we bring the car to the address you give us. You pay for transport in Poland in Poland. At the end you get an invoice for our service and all the documents for registration.
