How much does it cost to import a car from the USA and Canada
The auction price is only part of the cost. Below is everything you pay for, in the order you pay it. You know the full delivered cost before the auction.

In the USA and Canada
Car price
The amount we win the car for, in dollars. You set the upper limit.
Auction fees
Auction houses add their fees to the price according to their rules and rates. The amount depends on the car price and the auction house.
Transport in the USA or Canada
From the auction yard to the port. The cost depends mainly on the distance from where the car stands to the port and on the location of the port the vehicle ships from.
Sea freight
By container to Rotterdam, including unloading at the port.
In the Netherlands
Duty
10% of the customs value, i.e. the car price plus transport to the EU border.
VAT
The car is cleared in Rotterdam, so you pay Dutch VAT of 21%, calculated on the customs value plus duty.
Customs agency
Handling of clearance and unloading in Rotterdam. You'll see the amount in the settlement after clearance.
In Poland
Excise duty
You pay it in Poland after the car arrives. The rate depends on engine size:
- Engine up to 2000 cc3.1%
- Engine over 2000 cc18.6%
- Hybrid up to 2000 cc1.55%
- Hybrid 2000-3500 cc9.3%
- Electric car0%

Transport in Poland
From the port to your address. You pay for it in Poland.
Our commission
You pay it as a deposit before the auction, and after a won auction the deposit becomes the commission. The commission is fixed and you know it before signing the agreement. If we lose the auction, you don't pay it - the deposit is returned to you or kept for the next auction.
What the final amount depends on
We calculate all of this for the specific car before we start bidding.
Winning bid
Duty, VAT and excise are calculated on the car's value, so a higher auction price also raises the taxes.
Dollar exchange rate
You pay in dollars, so the rate on the day of payment counts.
Where the car is auctioned
Transport in the USA or Canada depends on the car's location, the distance to the port and the specific port it ships from.
Car size
A pickup, large SUV or van takes more space in the container, so sea freight costs more than for a sedan.
Engine size
It sets the excise rate - from 0% for an electric car to 18.6% for large engines.
Car condition
The more damage, the lower the price, but the higher the cost of repair.
