Encar or KB Cha-Cha-Cha - where to look for a car in Korea

7 September 2026 · 2 min read

When looking for a car in Korea, sooner or later you'll come across two websites: Encar and KB Cha-Cha-Cha. They are the biggest places where Koreans buy and sell used cars. We explain how they differ and why we buy most cars on Encar.

Encar - the biggest choice

Encar is the largest used car website in Korea. Listings there are posted mainly by dealers, and every car has photos, a description of its equipment and - most importantly - a report from the compulsory technical condition check that a car in Korea goes through before it is sold. 80% of the cars we import from Korea come from Encar.

KB Cha-Cha-Cha - the second source

KB Cha-Cha-Cha belongs to the KB financial group, one of the largest in Korea. There are fewer listings than on Encar, but you'll find cars that aren't anywhere else - especially from dealers working with the bank. That's why for every order we search both websites, as well as local dealers' offers.

How they differ in practice

  • Number of listings - Encar has far more, so it's easier to find a specific version and colour there.
  • How the car is bought - on both websites we buy most cars at a fixed price from a dealer. When a car is listed at auction, we bid only up to the amount you set.
  • Information about the car - both have the technical condition report, but the layout and level of detail differ. We read them for you and explain what they mean.
Tip

Listings on Korean websites are in Korean, with prices in won and often without export costs. Don't compare them directly with prices in Poland - ask us for a quote of the full delivered cost.

How we check a car before buying

We check every car in Korean databases: the technical condition report, the history of damage reported to insurers and the registration history. For cars more expensive than PLN 100,000 we recommend an on-site inspection - dozens of photos, a test drive and a paint thickness measurement.

We describe the whole process in the Korea car import process, and you can read about duty in the post 0% duty on cars from Korea - when does it apply?.
